I'd like to present my ArcGIS map for my beers. https://arcg.is/1GWTOH0 The value attribute is connected to the number of different brews consumed by that brewer. There's no connection with beer type or last date of consumption although those are possibilities as well. I'm an amateur mapper at best, and I just find this kind of information interesting. I like seeing in a visual where the beer I've consumed came from, considering I've only lived in 4 different states in the United States and in Japan. I've traveled to many of these countries I've had beers from, but not all of them. Overall, it helps me understand where I have "tasted" in some ways. BeerAdvocate doesn't allow us to export brewery location data at this point. I went through my entire list of 3,271 beers rated/reviewed and extrapolated the addresses manually. Does anyone else map their beer trends/history? If so, I'd love to see and learn from yours. Cheers!
I'm a university professor, so I have access to the software package. Instead of using it for good research purposes, I'm here posting about my love for alcohol. So, yeah...
To be fair, I do use the software for projects with my students. If any of you have kids in college, I want to let you know these tuition dollars are being used for productive purposes. Some of those dollars at least.
We've got ArcGIS at work too. I had a class in it years ago but never needed to use it. You could have all sorts of fun, like adding elevation data, satellite imagery, etc. What's the average altitude your beers were brewed at?
