Do you ever give people imports for extras? Is there a good way to figure out which states get which brands? I know a lot of stuff comes through Shelton Brothers, who apparently distributes to almost the entire country, but I don't believe every state sees the same stuff.

There are a lot of great imports that sit my local shelves from time to time, such as 3F Oude Gueuze, Tilquin Gueuze, Peche Mortel, Weihenstephaner, Pannepot, Fantome, Mikkeller, Evil Twin, etc. And when you look at the profile of some of these particular beers on this site, you'll see a significant number of wants, implying that there are at least some places that don't get them. But I have no idea where.

even though i get shelton distro, i would never personally scoff at receiving 3f or tilquin as extras. but i generally stick to giving locals that my recipient doesn't get distro of.

Use seekabrew.com to see what your beer trade partner gets. For the most part, seekabrew.com is right on.

If it is a high quality beer than there is no reason not to send it out. I would be excited with a 3F, Tilquin or Peche Mortel as an extra--heck you would be saving me a trip to the store if anything!
