Glasgow & Edinburgh, Scotland visit

    I have 1 day in each cities. Our main goal on this very short visit is a concert in Glasgow. The rest of the time we will be focusing on sightseeing and food. But I would like to stop in one pub/restaurant for good food and good local beer. I would prefer dinner in both Glasgow & Edinburgh to finish off the day. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

    The Hanging Bat is good in Edinburgh. In Glasgow, Brewdog has a BBQ restaurant but probably doesn't come close to the quality you have in the States.

    +1 for the Hanging Bat. West brewing company in Glasgow was nice although it's German inspired beers. Food was very good and they have an outside biergarten. I enjoyed Tennants, although not sure they have food other than maybe some crisps. The bar staff was fun - the ladies serving us had a good time ribbing me over my half pint orders. It's also near the University which is cool to walk around. I you have time in Glasgow, check out St. Mungo's and the Glasgow Necropolis across the street. Pretty amazing.
