Does anyone have any recommendations for getting locally branded or well-made glassware in the Boston area? Anywhere MBTA accessible is fine.
Craft Beer Cellar has the best branded glassware selection of any store I've ever been in - I think it's bus accessible? It's always been good, and it's just gotten ridiculous recently. I was there today: Idle Hands, Jack's Abby, Downeast Cider, Pretty Things, Notch, Cantillon, 3 Fonteinen, Kwak, Liefman's, Duvel, Slumbrew, store branded, blank... That might be half of it? Maybe?
Craft Beer Cellar easily, but for T-accessible, Charles Street Liquors at MGH has a random but extensive glassware collection.
For locally branded glassware, I would also just point out that you can get to a lot of the breweries around Boston without a car. I have gone to the ones in Boston, but I have also made trips out on the commuter rail to go to some breweries over the years. Even Jack's Abby isn't horrible to get to by commuter rail. I made an afternoon run to get Brett Bière De Garde when it was released last year. Grabbing a few samples and picking up some bottles of beer, a growler, and some glassware helped me justify the trip.
Concur on Craft Beer Cellar. It's my local shop so I will always give them props. Picked up a very nice Fantôme tulip on Monday there and they have an outstanding selection of glassware otherwise.
CBC definitely has the best selection of "high end" brewery glassware. Most of the other stores that carry glassware tend to focus mostly on selling the freebies and/or gift set glasses. Interestingly, truebeer.com, which is one of the biggest and best online glassware sellers, is located in Weymouth. Unfortunately they have no public store front. This is what they say about it on their site: Can we visit your store? We do have an office and warehouse located in Weymouth, MA. This location does not have a showroom as there has been little interest from our customers for walk-in service. We currently only allow for online ordering. They've been around for like 15 years, so I have to wonder if there might finally be enough interest for them to justify a small showroom? Perhaps if we all email and start requesting it...
