Newbie here. Was just gifted some teku and cervoise glasses, and wondering what beer styles go best with these. Noticed that this site's excellent glassware tutorial doesn't feature either of these types of glasses. I know that's not supposed to be gospel, but, as mentioned, I'm a newbie. All opinions welcome and appreciated.
Welcome, newbie! I'll be honest, I've found all kind of glassware to work with all kinds of beers. Personally, I like sours/lambics/gueuzes in my teku, but I've found plenty of other styles to work in there as well. I would say try everything and see what you think works.
some people are really picky with their glassware. i'm not one of them. a standard pint glass is probably my favorite everyday glass. my Duvel tulip is a close second...if i'm feeling classy i'll reach for my Weihenstephan weizen glass when i'm drinking a wheat beer. i usually reserve tulips for higher abv beers or beers that have a strong nose. to each their own but personally as long as it's in a glass i don't really care what the shape is. as long as my nose can smell the beer, i'm good.
The website has a section devoted to this question: glassware. Perhaps the individual glassware styles you mentioned are not specifically listed but there is sufficient information in which to extrapolate the information related to teku and cervoise glasses. A google search about those particular types of glassware will also provide you further information.
I use my teku for every style I drink, I think it's the perfect glass for any beer. I'm sure there's many that disagree but a teku, tulip, or snifter is the best for any beer. The aroma gets captured and that's a big part of the sensory experience of drinking good beer.
Sorry I misinterpreted the OP and didn't realize this was another in the never ending "what is your favorite glass and why" type of thread. I apologize but it is too late to delete my prior comment. Carry on amigos.
