Of course I'm preaching to the choir, but the glass really does make a difference. For example, I've had Lagunitas Imperial Red and Sierra Nevada Hoptimum out of tulip glasses and thought they tasted a little too boozy. Then the next day I had them out of pint glasses and thought they tasted just fine. Also firestone union jack straight out of the bottle = harshness. Union jack in a pint glass= good stuff.

pint glasses are straight edged. in my experience straight edged glasses tend to cut down or not trap certain aromas including top notes of alcohol. an overproof whiskey sometimes tastes better ...or let's say is "easier" to drink from a glass with no curvature. also find a straight pint glass (can) reduce bitter notes with beer.

Try UJ out of a tulip. Outstanding! I use a tulip for most everything I drink. Hoptimum is boozy no matter the glass.

Very much so. We did a BBA BW tasting and I was using a snifter. My buddy was using a Tripel Karm. glass. What a difference. That Belgian glass did wonders for all the beers I tried.

    Cheers!

Interesting, I tend to avoid pint glasses as I feel they don't capture the aroma as well as a tulip style glass. I never thought about the fact that they would also increase the boozy notes!
