I put two in the cellar to see what happens with some age. Same with O'Dells Saboteur. Not as sour as I had hoped but I put a couple of those away as well to see if time will work it's magic.

 

I had a Rayon Vert tonight and it's pretty good, kind of an Orval Lite.

 

thanks for posting this. I've known that it has brett for a while, but was unable to find a source to cite for such discussions outside of third party reviews or the notation of "wild yeasts" on Sofie's page on the Goose Island website.

Orval probably still wins the day for commercially available brett beers but saison-brett is not far behind. Crooked Stave is probably doing the most interesting brett beers out there although they are not always my cup of tea.

I'm fairly partial to one of my own brett beers. It started off really funky but after a couple of years it developed a fantastic cherry pie character. Great stuff.

 

As far as I'm aware, there is zero brett in Saison Dupont.

 

Lost Abbey Carnivale is a good Saison with Brett. $9 / 750ml

 

I have to drive to Albuquerque to get Orval, sometimes I can find it in Midland. I have an employee from San Diego, when he goes home he brings me beer like Rayon Vert, but I really prefer Orval any day.

 

I have two sitting at the moment. Was thinking about opening one next month and forgetting about the 2nd until next year.
