Was curious to see if it was harmful to move beers from my glass door merchandiser (48 degrees) to my new cellar (55/65ish). Keep getting IPAs and never have a chance to get into the 30/40 stouts, BW, sours, and quads. Thoughts

IMO I have never seen or tasted any problem when taking stouts and BW from the fridge to the cellar. Beer goes through so many temp changes from the Brewer to the shelf anyway. Light to me is the big killer of beer. I will say I use to keep all my beer including my IPAs in my cellar. Then I went back to keeping my IPAs in the fridge only because I felt they were fading in taste faster in my cellar than the regular fridge.

Good to know never thought about light so I should keep my halogen light off in the fridge?

Light kills faster than heat, unless it's scorching hot. Mild temp fluctuations are fine though. Plenty of info on this topic already.

You should be fine switching them. That isn't much of a temperature change anyway.

And I would remove the light unless you are attempting to display the bottles. Not worth the risk of light-striking the beer and will probably save you in electric a tiny amount.
