I'm going to Columbus brewing company tomorrow and I hear they may bottle it soon. Columbus creeper is good too

Well headhunter may be my favorite single IPA right now (though it definitely blurs the lines of ipa/iipa) so I hope i can get some rajah. Who would think that OH has some of the top ipas. Also excited to grab some ba siberian night and the ba wee heavy.

Head Hunter is the best of the three and one of the best you will find anywhere. Rajah is really good with Columbus a distant third, but still quality.

You might try this if you haven't already: http://beeradvocate.com/beerfly/list?city=Akron&c_id=US&s_id=OH

Also, I know people are trying to be helpful, but some of the suggestions involve a lot of driving. Akron to Boardman is about 100 miles round trip, a long drive IMO to visit one bottle shop, especially when the OP wrote "I can't drive too far from Akron." Strongsville is another 40 miles one way.

And although I love the Brewkettle, if I was going to make an 80 mile drive (round trip), I think I'd head for Cleveland. Within a few blocks of each other, there's Great Lakes, Market Garden, Tremont Tap House, Happy Dog, Lilly's Chocolates (yeah, they have beer---website says over 200, plus primo chocolates) and some others I'm not aware of. 200 craft beer bottles should cover your shopping.

Bottling Bodhi has been a rumor for a long time. I don't see it happening any time soon.

Look for Maumee Bay Total Eclipse Breakfast Stout and Amarillo Brillo DIPA.

Jackie O's won't be in the Akron area at this time.

Or do, it's a completely forgettable place.

Thanks for the correction - I thought I had a good time when I was there, but I guess I was wrong.

:grinning: Happy to help jog your memory.

Seriously, though, Nano isn't a place I'd ever recommend that a visitor go to - it's not bad, it's just completely forgettable in the grand scheme of things. Tremont Taphouse is 5 minutes away and is one of the best taprooms in the state and probably the country! We need to showcase our best places to visitors and Nano, unfortunately, just isn't one of them.

Sweet I'm about an hour away, will add lizardville to my beer store stop list. I wish I could have more time to do stuff myself but it seems like there are some great options in Akron.

For some reason some GPS units will take you to the wrong location if you are going to lizardville. It's located on the same side of the street as the GetGo gas station.

Thanks, does lizardville sell cases/6ers or is it just singles

Lizardville is all singles. And they have the best selection in the area at that. If you want 6/12 options the Acme grocery store across the street from Lizardville is an option. West point market about 2 miles down the road is even better yet. Those 3 locations are about 5 minutes from each other. And about 15 minutes from your hotel.

One more thing. The Lizardville in Copley has a limited food menu. But they are connected to a Winking Lizard. A full service restaurant. That also nice a nice beer menu to choose from

yea I just noticed the close proximity of all these places, definitely gonna ditch the people I'm with and get some great beer shopping done. Also expect my bank to call me verifying the purchases ill be making lol.

I'm curious where you went and what you thought of the places. Will help me with future suggestions for out of towners.

I actually just left thirsty dog, thought it was pretty cool. Beers were all pretty good and its just a nice laid back place. We're all trying to decide where to eat dinner, and beer isn't the deciding factor. I'm the only real beer geek, hopefully we wind up somewhere good on all fronts

My wife and kids (6 and 8) aren't beer geeks either. And they all like the winking lizard. Win-win
