I'm hitting Stone Brewing, Firestone, the Bruery, Ballast Point, Greenflash and probably a Pizza Port..... Any other must try breweries in Southern California? I know there's a lot just don't know of any are worth going out of the way for.
Lost Abbey for sure. That's not too far from Stone. FYI, Firestone is more up north. Like a 3.5 to 4 hour drive or so from LA
Go to corona ca and hit up the bottle shop el cerrito seriously don't pads it up. Go to their face book page he post new shipments reg
If you're going to GreenFlash and Ballast Point you should probably hit up Alesmith. You can literally make a route from Ballast point, take Miramar road(see some cool old war plane to your left hand side) then make a right on Cabot drive to Alesmith brewery (and try their speedway stout), then flip then hit up Greeflash(try their double stout and then reminisce on speedway stout and see who wins). You'll be toasted!! Hopefully you're gonna hire a chauffuer
Start at Ballast Piont head down Miramar to go to White Labs, then to Alesmith, Hess Brewing, Rough Draft then to Wet n Wreckless to Green Flash to English Brewing...
It's probably best you didn't ask if there are any good breweries in LA to visit (would instigate an argument and links to other argument threads). Besides Beachwood Bbq Long Beach or Seal Beach (highly recommended), the other easy day trip from LA is to Placentia to hit the Bruery Taproom, Bootleggers, and Bruery Provisions further south (killer bottleshop). All within an hour from LA.
Alpine (the pub) has great food in addition to delicious brews. Lost Abbey is a must-see as well. Alesmith is kind of fun, but really they mainly just have their main-stays on draught; there's rarely anything of particular novelty that you can't find at a store. Keep in mind that some of the breweries you're going to visit are the warehouse and tasting room only type variants. Don't expect to be able to sit down at all of them. I know it's a trivial concern, but it really bothers some people - especially if you're hitting four breweries in a day.
Alpine. Firestone Walker in Buelton is about 2 hours north of LA. I'd focus on pubs myself. Not sure i'd want to drive around so much to breweries so much. Alpine being the exception with maybe bruery, beachwood, ballast on the way.
Take a tour of the Budweiser Brewery!! Nah. Just kidding. Hit up Beachwood BBQ in Seal Beach & Long Beach. Then drive 2 hours south to Alpine. . . .or go to bed.
Wow lol... Thanks for the suggestions.. I completely forgot about Alpine and Lost Abbey... Crap maybe ill extend my stay lol!
