So next week ill be visiting NYC, I live out west in the Bay Area. Ill be staying in SOHO.

three things I'm looking for: Beer, Beer, and more beer, and Pizza (I lied).

Were planning on going to Sixpoint, and most likely Brooklyn Brewing, any other breweries worth checking out?
also id love any craft bottle shop, I'm planning on bringing a big haul back home.

lastly is tired hands distributed to the city? Don't think ill be able to make it out to PA while I'm there, and I hear they make some really great beer.

    thanks and cheers!

Use my handy NYC Craft Beer Map to locate good bars and bottle shops near your location:

    https://mapsengine.google.com/map/u/0/viewer?mid=zwC6ezBHVgzI.kyMuRsydhsSU

There are tons of craft bottle shops around, just keep in mind liquor/wine stores do not carry beer.

Yeah Sixpoint is not open to the public. Brooklyn Brewery is reservation only for tours Mon-Thurs, but open to the public on the week-ends. As for other breweries check out Other Half, Threes Brewing, Transmitter, and SingleCut.

As for pizza check out Paulie G's, Robertas, Lombardis, Arturos, Motorino, Grimaldis, Speedy Romeo.

You probably won't find much Tired Hands in the city.

Friday the 16th is there's a secret wink wink at Brooklyn. For last year's secret wink wink there was a cask of 2008 Black Ops. No word on anything special this year.

Enjoy and really, don't forget the pizza. Kanger provided some great resources for you. His first pizza choice, Pauly Gees is one of my favorite. Even if it's not necessarily NY style. It's not in the most convenient location but not too far from Brooklyn Brewery. I recommend getting there on the early side or else there will be a line.

Regarding Brooklyn Brewery, I had a good time there but it's more like going to a large bar than a brewery (I didn't take the tour).

    My go to bottle shops:
Brooklyn - Covenhoven (favorite!), Prospect Heights Beer Works, Bed Stuy Beer Works
Manhattan - Whole Foods Bowery, Top Hops, New Beer Distributors (all within walking distance and pick up some Vanessa's dumplings while you're bottle shopping!)

As others have said, definitely check out Other Half. I had their Southernhopalistic on NYE and was really impressed.

The Blind Tiger on Bleecker Street is a great bar. They are having a Stone event on Jan. 14.

Unfortunately, Tired Hands does not distribute outside of its brewpub in Ardmore, PA. However, you can take the train fairly easily from NYC to Ardmore and it would definitely be worth the trip. In addition to tremendous beer, they have great food.

Maybe bring some Cali beers and set up an IP trade for Tired Hands?
