I'm new to the area, but of the few stores I've been to, Knightly Spirits on South Orange Blossom Trail is above and away the best (and only about 7 miles away from where you'll be). Today I picked up a bottle of Cigar City's Humidor IPA which was only two weeks old and tastes great--drinking it right now (they also had sixers of Tocobaga and Jai Alai and big bottles of cucumber saison, Big Sound, Guava Grove, Bolita Brown, 110k batch 5, Improvisacion, Winter Warmer Warmer Winter and maybe one or two others). They have a nice UK selection (basically any and every J.W. Lee's Harvest ale), a ton of Belgians (including Girardin Black Label for only $10!), and (although few) some pretty impressive sixers and four packs you can pull singles from (and if you build your own sixer they usually give you a 5% discount). The people there are really knowledgeable about their beer and super helpful. If there are any beers you're specifically hoping to come across message me and I'll let you know if I saw any there today.
There is also a World Of Beer not far from you in the Dr. Philips area, 52 taps and over 500 bottles 7800 Dr. Phillips Blvd Orlando, FL 32819 407-355-3315
Whole Foods on Turkey Lake Road (close to the convention center) has some great beers. There are two seperate beer areas on opposite sides of the store. The Total Wines and More at Millenia Plaza advertises 'over 2500 beers'. Knightly Spirits on Orange Blossom trail is a favorite of mine. Great beers, good service, I got two bottles of Bells Oracle from a reserve stash.
Of the places I've been, only Orlando Brewing has had growlers. It's sad, I have numerous empty growlers longing to be filled.
The laws in FL suck, you have to have a Brewery license to sell growlers legally. Orlando Brewing, Hourglass Brewery are the only 2 I know that you can get them at. (Neither are worth the trip/money IMO)
Went to Orlando Brewing last night, needless to say I was not impressed. Thank goodness I live 30 mins from CCB. Thanks for the info guys, Fin
