My local beer, Gold Ochsen, has a new giveaway. Gold Ochsen started in 1597 in Ulm Germany and they call themselves, Ulm's liquid gold. The bottle caps are blank or have an Ochsen on the inside. The Ochsen caps can be turned in to the Gold Ochsen gift shop for merchandise. They haven't had anything like this since well before the Rona, maybe it's their way of picking up sales. Normally the end of next month starts the Christmas beer sales. The Christmas beer (Weihnachtsbier) is a bit stronger than the normal beer and is only brewed for a month or so. "On top" giveaways are fairly common in the beverage industry in Germany, buy a case get a glass, combo deals (buy 2 crates and 1 of Coca Cola crate for x Euro), free reusable cloth bags, etc. The crown collection idea is quite old, but only effective in the off premise channel.
