BCBS is worth making an exception for. Nothing GR brews is

Seems silly to write them off based on their mainline beers, look who is running it.

Noble's Worst is still far better than GRB's better beers. And I think that's the main take away. That GRB has some beers that are decent or drinkable. But they're really only something to drink if there's absolutely nothing else out there.

I would be hard pressed to go to Noble and then the game and then walk to GRB:A after the game if I parked on the Noble side. Which is what it's going to come down to. They are really on opposite sides of stadium and while I can see it get some appeal from Angels fans, I can't see myself ever stepping foot in there regardless of who owns them.

Curious to see what Tony does with all those Golden Road taps at both Tony's and Mohawk.

I heard a lot of them will be going away within the next couple of months. Hopefully that holds true.

I'd be surprised if that's the case.

    Why would that surprise you?

Because it doesn't appear he left because he was slighted and there isn't bad blood in particular, it just wasn't his bag, got paid and bounced to still be his own boss. Pretty sure he'd still support it. Unless I missed something.

I've heard from folks working at both locations that the number of GRB taps will be reduced. I don't think they'll be eliminated but take that for what you will. Also, while he got paid, I don't think he really had a say in the sale.

it would be awesome to see them eliminated. doesn't really fit with the themes of his bars any more. California craft beer

Went to Mohawk a couple weeks ago and bartender mentioned all the Golden Road stuff was going to disappear within a couple months. Also mentioned they would have a new beer manager to help with that transition.

Looking at Noble's Instagram from yesterday it would appear they are genuinely excited about their new neighbors.

Can't blame them. Even with GR owned by AB, should still bring more people to the area looking to drink for the day. Only helps their business.

My thoughts exactly. The more traffic to the area, the more customers. The more customers, the more income. Profit.

Went to the grand opening. Tap room is small , real small, with an outdoor couch seating with turf setting. Overall, it's small and not comfortable unless visiting at night time.

Beer was just awful, seems like they re-use the same hops or something. Most of the IPA's taste the same.

At Noble now and this place never fails. Happy Danksgiving is on point.

Also; tacos were dry, tortillas weren't cooked well, and meat wasn't well seasoned.

I also went to the grand opening. you have to understand a one major point when you go:

Everything is in a state of transition.

The tasting room set up is intended for temporary use.

Is it the best...no. can you enjoy beer, conversation and watch a game...yes.

By 2017 they will have the full brewhouse/restaurant up and running. The current tasting room will be demolished. Why waste a ton of money when the whole thing will be destroyed?

Victor is also not shying away from the reputation. His mark on the beers is coming. He finally has been given full control. He will be improving all of the recipes. It just takes time.

    Change is coming.

I forgot to add that of course Noble is happy....Evan learned under Victor and they are great friends.

So not really a big surprise.

i could even see a collab in the future.
