Good Barleywine Introduction

    yeah i've had it fresh when it came out, bottle and tap and its just phenomenal im surprised you called it terrible...as far as barleywines go i wouldn't say sucaba is an acquired taste either so you should definitely revisit it

    After reading the reviews I'm wondering if there was something wrong with the cap, it had almost no head, but that's not always unusual with barelywines.

    I can't say as though I've liked much of what I've had from Troegs. I MUCH prefer Victory on the whole. But I will try just about anything.

    I don't care for Sucaba either but it shouldn't taste like cardboard. Cardboard flavor = old stale beer.

    Nor would I. In fact, it's what turned me onto barleywines. If it weren't so pricey and psuedo-hard to come by, I'd recommend it to the OP as an excellent gateway.
