Good beer in Fenway

Wachusett Green Monsta can be found in right field area. Unless they added anything from last year that's about it. Before you go in or after. there's a Yardhouse

 

Smuttynose finest kinda ipa cans. Home base concecssion area.

 

Yup that's how I rolled last night. Wachusett (Monsta & Blueberry) and Harpoon (IPA & Summer) cans at a bunch of the beer stands, but Finest Kind was only at this one stand.

 

What are they charging for the finest kind cans?

 

I saw an article in yahoo the other day saying what beers were being sold in all of the mlb parks. Lets see if I can find it......

 

9.25 a can. Ouch.

 

Although if I am having a beer in Fenway and the choice is between 7.75 swill or 9.25 craft, guess what I am choosing...

Pregaming is the best way to go in any case. We did not have time for Yard House yesterday, but last season I had pints of Be Hoppy there before every game. Even at the casual Tasty Burger down the street they have 5.50 cans of Bengali, and a lot of other cans for that matter.

 

I think this is the 3rd year for Finest Kind at Fenway but you need a specific ticket to get access to 2 of the 3 stands that have it (on the Monster and whatever that Coke section is down the left field line). I think behind home plate is the only other stand that has it.

$8 or more for a 12 oz can is ridiculous. Go to a Diamondbacks home game and get beer on tap for less than half the cost.

I generally like Eater, but they put about 2 minutes of effort into that. Octoberfest in April?
There's a ton of other good beers.
I didn't go down Yawkey Way when I went to the home opener, but there used to be a bunch of decent drafts out there.

 

Thats pretty good, WTPA is one of my favorites.

 

The selection is bad and the prices are the highest in the league. I always bring a flask of whiskey into the game.

 

Better bring just a pint now, metal detectors at every gate.

 

Yea last year I got 2 Wachusett GM not even looking at the price. Just glad i did not have to drink bud light. The guy said $18. I pretty much shit my pants. Then I thought ok not the end of the world, at least they are 16oz. Nope when I went in 2013 they were pint size 16oz cups. Fore sure. Last year 2014 they increased prices and reduced cups to12oz. When I grabbed both off the counter I immediately felt that they were skinner cups. I sipped slowly and had the 2 over 5 innings then left. Total rip off. Not returning anytime soon.

 

Fenway hasn't had 16oz cups probably ever...nothing new.

 

The selection on Yawkey Way (and elsewhere in the park) is much worse this year.

 

Going to the game tomorrow evening, anything new so far this season? I typically get a Green Monsta IPA to enjoy with my peanuts.
