Agreed!!! I have developed into a craft machine like I am sure many people here on this forum has. If it is not quality, I do not want it!!! Of course, that can beg the question what is craft because everyone has their own opinion.

I have friend's that'll only drink craft. If only swill is available, they wouldn't think twice and get something else.

I can and do drink just about anything. That said everywhere I go at the very least has a Sam Adams offering so I go with that.

I'm on weight watchers, so every beer consumes points. I rarely drink something that isn't good, and it's a lot easier to drainpour ones that aren't.

Beer is my favorite type of alcoholic beverage, but that doesn't mean I'll drink any swill for the sake of it being beer. I'm a fan of red wine, but apparently my taste in white wine or champagne is very expensive. I therefore don't stick with those all night, so I'll drink water or a soft drink before anything alcoholic just for the sake of getting drunk.

With more and more craft beer finding its way into more and more places, there's no excuse for me to not be able to find something I prefer to drink. But to answer the OP's question, yes, it's craft beer or no beer at all.

i grew up in the country drinking bud and natty light while spending long hot days on the lake and nights on the tailgate of a truck around a bon fire and i doubt ill ever grow out of that. im also a roofer and something about a bud after a long hot miserable day is just really nice. that being said i find that i wont buy bmc beer while at a restaurant or bar. if im going to be paying a high price for a beer, its gonna be a good beer. luckily a lot of the stadiums and music venues around here are selling good beer lately.

I agree with this...If I am out at a bar or restaurant, I will not order a crappy beer. I will only get a beer that is at least decent. Thankfully around here, most bars and restaurants will have at least something good or a small selection of craft beers at worst. That being said...I will drink coors, bud, miller, pbr, and etc when playing beer pong/other games at a party where mass consumption is taking place.

I prefer "craft" beer. That being said there is a time and place for "swill". If we're out on the river with friends, and they drink all my 21A or SN cans, then yeah I'm gonna grab a PBR. Hell my wife will even steal a few sips on that. I try not to frequent bars that don't have a craft selection, and will usually opt for scotch and water if I am dragged to one that doesn't. Also after a few hours out with friends, when my pallet is blown any way, and it's not time to leave but I don't need another DIPA or RIS, PBR works just fine at that point.
But 95% of my beer consumption is craft. Just can't say "craft or nothing". Unless it's Bud Light.

If I find myself in a venue that doesn't have a single craft beer option I will always make a point of making my displeasure known and then either order a soda or leave.

At a restaurant, I'll prefer water to garbage. In a social setting, I'll drink whatever - even Coors Lite.

I would prefer a coca cola to a crappy beer, wine or cheap booze.

Yes... I saw your earlier post. I disagree with your opinion, but hey, no worries.

So do you only go to restaurants alone?
What if you're having a social event at a restaurant? Do you short circuit because of the insolvable dilemma?

I had a Coors Light two nights ago for the first time in a year. It reminded me of why I started drinking craft beer to begin with...for the taste and quality. I wouldnt say that im anal about picking beer. I just naturally pick out beer that I know is of good quality.

I absolutely prefer good beer. But being aventurous and trying brews you haven't before is essential to learning about the craft. Good or bad, it is an experience none the less that you can take something away from.

If I had the buck$ I'd buy craft ALL the time and every different one I could find. Oops reality comes in to play. Have to buy cheap sometimes. But better to drink just decent beer than none at all!!!

I am not anal about if a beer is a "craft" beer or not. I am more interested in a good beer. For instance, if there is a good Goose Island beer on, I have no problem drinking that, just because they are an AB product. And similarly, I have been to bars that have several crappy craft beers flowing and I might pass on all of them for a tequila and cranberry. I won't drink bad beer, but if it is good beer, I really don't care who made it.

I focus on ordering craft but if I'm at a dive bar a tall PBR hits the spot.

No, I will also drink crap beer if that's all that's available. Also nothing beats a 20oz Coors draught at a Rockies game or at a Mexican restaurant.
