I'm going to be driving into VA next weekend headed to Massanutten. Looking for any good beer stores off of 127/522 then off I-81. A good trading partner of mine (csbinva) told me about Beer Run in Charlottesville, which I can hit later in our trip. I'm looking for something between the MD border and Massanutten so I can have some good stuff in hand when we get there. Thanks!

This might not be much help but I recently stopped in Harrisonburg to get lunch at Capital Ale house. It's about 5 minutes off of 81. Might be the same exit as Massanutten but going the opposite direction. Capital Ale house has decent food but a very good selection of drafts for the area (around 50). Next door to them is Downtown Wine and Gourmet. It was closed on a Sunday so I couldn't check it out. But looking through the windows I could tell it was a small selection. There are some reviews on here for them. I would say its worth the stop just to have a beer or two at capital ale house.

Go to Sam Adams and Dogfish Head websites, select a non regular beer like Cinderbock or Black and Blue. Put in your zip code and radius and see what comes up.

Little late, but for future reference .... here it goes ....

As said above, you have Downtown Wine and Gourmet. There's also Vintage Wines on Reservoir Road and University. Not sure of either's hours. I believe there is a Wine shop on rt 33, it's on the right if you're coming into Harrisonburg on 33, about 1 or 2 miles away. Surprisingly, the Food Lion on rt33 in Harrisonburg has a great selection of beers, even bombers. Just finishing a Rare Vos bomber now as a matter of fact  Martin's Grocery also sells bottles, just not a lot, but you can build a 6'er.

If you're looking for bars, you must try Jack Brown's and Billy Jack's. Same owner's, slightly different themed bars, but they are the best!! Only places I go!!
Capital All has a 100 beers on tap, always. I like them, but they can be a bit expensive, especially food prices.

I live in H'burg and I'm a regular at Billy Jack's. Anyone ever needs H'burg info, gimmie a shout.
