You may be able to get her to get a growler of 512 IPA or something, there are no bottles available right now, they have only bottled three brews in the past.

Not exactly specific to Houston, but I'd definitely recommend that you ask her to bring you at least a can of Southern Star's Buried Hatchet. Excellent canned stout.

Their summer seaonal Walloon is out now too, and their Bombshell Blonde is good too. Southern Star is Houston enough, about 40 minutes out of downtown in Conroe, TX.

Saint Arnold Elissa is a favorite. Independence Convict Hill is on par with Buried Hatchet, IMO, and both are very tasty. You may have already gotten your hands on Deschutes stuff in the past, but Obsidian Stout and their other stuff is all over Houston and definitely worth bringing back up to your neck of the woods.

Karbach anything. Especially if you can find growler fill of bourbon barrel hell fighter, merlot rodeo clown, or barn burner.

Like has been said, we get a lot of Boulevard Smokestack offerings as well as most of the Deschutes lineup. Houston gets a lot of DFH as well, if that is not available to you.

Karback is a new brewery in Houston, they have several beers available in cans. I love Weisa Versa, Hopodillo and Rodeo Clown are both very good as well.

I think there might (?) still be some Bourbon Barrel Quad around, too. No guarantees, though.

No Label is starting bottling soon, so depending on when your friend comes, that's something worth looking for. Also if a growler is an option, Buffalo Bayou has some awesome stuff.
