Hello all! I'm shipping out to Boston in a few weeks, with a slight detour through Vermont. I'm looking to pick up some stellar local beers from those two states. Heady Topper is number one on my list, so it would be great if someone could let me know where I might be able to find it (if it's hard to find). Also I'll be staying near Harvard, so any good brewpubs or breweries in walking distance of that would be great. I'd love to score some IPAs, DIPAs, barley wines, and stouts for my cellar. Also open to suggestions for other things. Thanks!
The Alchemist website has info on where to buy Heady, and they keep their brewery inventory pretty up to date on Twitter (be warned, it's a good trek into VT from Boston.) Lawson's Finest (Warren, VT) isn't terribly far away from Alchemist. Hill Farmstead is a good trek north but is regarded by many as a pilgrimage and worth the detour. Definitely check out Jack's Abby beers - they are putting out some best in class lagers and have a double India pale lager coming out very soon (high expectations on that one.) If you are making the trip out of town to hit VT breweries I'd recommend checking out Redstone Liquors in Stoneham MA - it's super close to the highway and the selection and service there are top notch. Those guys know their stuff. Enjoy the time in Boston - it's a fun little city.
