Headed to Myrtle in a couple weeks and haven't been there in about 10 years. Looking for a good bootle shop and/or craft brew bar in the area. Any suggestions?

Do a quick search in this forum for Myrtle Beach. It comes up fairly often in the summertime.

Also, Places (in the upper nav bar) >> South Carolina >> Myrtle Beach.

Piggly wiggly in market common is absolutely the best by far. Anything else and you will be disappointed.

My advice is to bring your own stash. There's usually a few locals around that are good, mostly Westbrook stuff, not much Coast at The Pig in Market Commons. Most of the other stuff is beers I can get here much cheaper, I assume your driving. Destination cities are high, beers more expensive, liquor is much higher. The Myrtle Beach beer scene isn't like being parachuted into Vt that's for sure.

I second the Market Commons Piggly Wiggly. I agree with @nc41 that it's not awesome distro, but there has always been bottles that I couldn't find around me in PA. they also have had shelf Tilquin that wasn't crazy prices. I always enjoy walking around and don't forget the growler station!

I always bring my own, and I always pick away at The Pig, ya never know if anything new showed up. The growler station usually has something interesting on tap as well, quite agree. I like Gordon Bierch (sp) around the corner as well, their Czeh Pils is really good and definitely on the inexpensive side.

There is a new taphouse in Market Commons as well...........I haven't been there yet, but I will try to stop by this year. My parents are a 5 minute golf cart drive away from the Pig.......makes it nice and easy.

I know they're a chain, but they really do produce some nice German styles. Their Schwarzbier is tasty.

Definitely will check out the pig and it looks like Atlas Taphouse might be a fun spot to hit up. I'll be sure to bring some fresh Maryland brews with me as well. Again, thanks for the help fellas.

The Brass Tap is the new place in Market Common....it's a chain and a little pricey but you can find something good there...I live in North Myrtle and Pavillion on hwy 17s has some good stuff including a growler station...ask the guy if they have anything good behind the counter....shhh

This thread has been helpful! I will be in NMB July 2-7. We are bringing a box of our own (great notion, cellarmaker, SARA, etc), but are there any good beach cans on the shelves around there? Sessions, Kolsch, Pales, Etc. Thanks!

My beach can staples are Westbrook Gose, Coast 32/50 Kolsch, Bell Oberon & you should be able to find all of them at the Pig Market Commons. Enjoy your stay on the Redneck Riviera.

Gose is soooooooooooooo good on a hot day. Bring your French press and try it with a few smashed blackberries or peaches. Unbelievable!!

-In north mrytle you can go to pavilion discount beverage on the corner of 13th ave S and North Kings Highway. Not as good as Piggly Wiggly, but also not 45 minutes away, and definitely better than anything else I've found.

SC available stuff that isn't distro'd to CA that comes in cans: Sixpoint, Sweetwater, terrapin, highland, service, westbrook, coast.

Westbrook makes pretty good beer all in cans, Gose if it's your thing is highly sought, I think their One Claw PA is their best beer, They make an IPA and a White Thai which I've never had. All about $10 a six here, probably a buck more at the beach. If pushed anyone who likes beer could do very nicely with One Claw Pale Ale.
