I will be visiting Austin this month and looking for some solid bottle shops in the area (preferably downtown). Thanks!!

If you use the places feature it will give you the locations and reviews of each bottle shop

Thanks Gents---Which would be the best for rarities in your opinion?

East 1st Grocery will be a good bet. Sam always treats visitors really well.

Sorry to jump on your thread, but my wife will be in Austin in a week or two, and is willing to bring a few things back to me in Ohio. I prefer local stuff, what three or four things would top your list of bottles she can return with and obtain fairly easily?

Honestly, I'd just look through https://twitter.com/E1Grocery and https://twitter.com/SunriseMiniMart to get a good idea as to what's landed lately. It's all really a matter of preference. There are tons of great beers available. Great local breweries worth checking out: Adelberts, Austin Beerworks, Branchline (San Antonio), Buffalo Bayou (Houston), Jester King, Saint Arnold (Houston), and Real Ale.

Hops & Grain are good too. Greenhouse IPA might be available when your wife comes down.

I'd still call myself new to Austin, and like helping people who are visiting, but what happened to searching a forum for 1 minute about a question that gets asked once a month?

P.S. If you don't have a car, buses or walking can get you to all of these places from DT (except maybe Mueller).

CA about a year ago. Good guess, if you're going off of surname hints.

And your comment sounds like a stupid statement to me, especially from someone asking for help. Take 2 seconds and search, then ask questions if you can't find an answer.

And yes, I AM from Boston.
