Hey everyone my brother will be visiting reletives in D.C. And then on to Richmond. He can carry two six packs or four bombers. I was wondering what good readily availabe beer should i pick up? I like all styles. Cheers from Chicago!

Hardywood in Richmond sounds like your best bet.

oh i'd also add any Williamsburg Alewerks bombers you can find (along with their pumpkin ale) at total wine or once upon a vine

the good Alewerks bombers (BB Porter, Cafe Royale, Bitter Valentine) are pretty much long gone at this point. their Pumpkin Ale is one of the only ones I actually like and is just now hitting the market.

Center of the Universe has a decent hoppy bomber available in RVA shops, PocaHOPtus.

Hardywood has quite a few bottles available, best selection is at the brewery compared to shops.
their new tasting room setup makes for a bit of confusion as they now have 3 tasting rooms split over 2 buildings (2 inside and 1 outside). 1 room may have bottles a, b, c while another room may have bottles b, c, x and the third room may have a, c, y and z and there is little notice as to what room has what bottles (or even draft offferings...)

Most of the DC Brau beers are pretty solid, imo. Depends on what style you want but I'd reccomend any of the following:

    OTWOA (brewery only)
    Corruption
    Public
    Penn Quater Porter
    El Hefe Speaks

All these are in 6 packs of 12oz cans (or singles at some shops), not sure what is available in bombers
