Me and some buddies are headed down to the ozarks near the osage beach area for a bachelor party the weekend of august 8-10th. Anyone know of any good micro breweries down there? Thanks in advance.

NONE! If you can find Boulevard, Tallgrass, or other St. Louis beers, count your blessings.

Been visiting Ozarks since I was boy (over 30 years) and this is rural/South wanna-be, just
    a ton of cheap BMC.

There is Horseshoe Ben Brewing @ the lake but I haven't heard a lot of good things about them

You should be able to find some beers from Piney River Brewing Co on store shelves. They are a little under the radar still but oh so good...

Not sure if Mother's distributes around lake Ozark but they are decent if you find any

Horseshoe Bend is okay. It's the only brewpub I know of. Look for Logboat on tap. They have a couple accounts at the lake. Also, find a HyVee and stock up on things you can't get at home.

Otherwise, @evilcatfish has great advice, too.

Excellent point. Even if 100% sober watch your speed. Myself and at least 5 friends have gotten speeding tickets in/around/between Osage Beach and Camdenton for not going much over the speed limit.

Also, if any of your friends have or ya'll rent a boat/jet ski for god sakes be careful. That lake is crazy and a lot of the boats there really do not belong anywhere but the ocean. Taking on the main channel in a ski/bass/pontoon boat on a weekend is a death wish

@evilcatfish is 100% right about the main channel! Do what I do on my trips to the family cabin, stop in St Louis and stock up on Perennial, Schlafly and 4 Hands. I'm sure there's more down there, will find out on the next trip what else is good.

Thanks everybody. I'll definitely look for some piney river in the stores while I'm down there. I don't live too far from St. Louis... About 3 hours...I'm a die hard cards fan so I'm down there a lot and am fairly familiar with the craft brew scene, and it is pretty impressive. But yea, I've been down to the Ozarks when I was younger and remember the cops bein pretty heavy. So we definitely planned on taking cabs, also my buddy has a hookup down there so we got a boat with a sober captain for ridiculously cheap. Anyways , thanks for all of your input!
