The bombers do appeal to many and have a certain allure when you see them all big on a shelf but I personally prefer 12-16oz size. The price does matter but if you were to get two of these same beers on draft at a bar it would usually cost as much if not more then the bomber.

Anymore, it has to be QUITE special. More special than a nicely priced $10/sixer ( or $12-$16 four pack, which beats out a $15 bomber any day of the week by about 2 times.) I want to say Bombers are being priced out ever so slightly. For me, it used to be a 25-30% of a weekly $100 beer store purchase. But anymore, I can get by with just one, or a 10% bomber type purchase. On this current beer store stop, there was just too many sixers/four packs *including backwoods bastard for the first time in NM. So that made my decision quite easy. BA Narwhal just sits there ever so patiently. I don't know if I can drop the $20 they ask of me.

I've also heard of breweries saying they are doing us a favor by offering us bombers (better than NOTHING at all, they say). Because in theory they can get a limited run out to more people per ounce than they could as a six pack or four pack.

If they had a 1,000 bomber run, thats about 458 four pack of 16 oz. cans, or 1,000 individual sale 22 oz. bombers. For the money seekers, the option is simple. Others give you a reason that they are helping out fans by making it more accessible. I guess we are to be the ultimate judge of that. Go figure in truly listening to the reasoning a brewery gives us as they BANK on bombers though. Pay more as YOU (and possibly others and maybe you have to pay more for less) because the thought of not having it at all is a terrible thought. Mind games. Is it better to have something ever so slightly in a over priced fashion than not at all? The craft beer hype says anything is worth everything.

I like bombers to try a new beer for the same reason most people are saying - because it's nice for trying a new beer. If it turns out to be something really like, and 4 or 6 packs are available, I definitely prefer to by those. Also, there are way too many good beers only available in the bomber format so I would hate to miss out on those. I would love it though if they started making more of those available in 12-oz bottles just because I sometimes find it hard to drink a 15% abv bomber solo.

I just sold a few Dragon's Milk 12 oz bottles today. At the price point we were selling, a bomber would've been arguable more economical.

As someone who likes to buy cases of six packs, I really do not like bombers at all. So often bombers get old, always a terrible value, and I drink alone so sometimes they can be a chore to finish.

I don't care much for them. I think a big reason for them is the perception that a great beer has to be in something that looks like a wine bottle, with 12 oz six packs being second tier. The people on this site know better and will buy the beer regardless of the format. A lot of beer is bought by people who don't know better however.

I hate them, but with (too) many beers I don't have a choice, so I suck it up and buy them.

This also would not be a problem with me, as long as there is a double IPA to wash it down with.

I'm buying less bombers now than when I first forayed into beer mainly due to the price per ounce. That said I'll get one if it's a beer that I really want or that is the only format that beer is bottled in.

First world problem, or money problem, same thing. Personally I buy bomberss when I crave the beer that is only available as such, wanted it for some time, or looks intruiging and I'm in the mood.

Lately I decided that the bomber should not cost more than $9. Or roughly the median cost of the average sixer at $8.99. I have not had too many and I will make exception =) I leave you with these three words - stone ( some of 'em), southern tier ( now that they went down) and three heads. Don't forget Sierra nevada with their $3.99 bombers and lagunitas.

If it is a brew I want ..... I buy a bomber... but if I can get a 6 pack, I get the 6 over the bomber.

I hate bombers for numerous reasons. Number one, I don't always want 22 ounces of the same beer, especially if it is rich. Second, the pricing is stupid. "Normal" beers are about 2.50 a 12 ounce bottle. All of a sudden they put them in a bigger bottle and charge 10 dollars. This never made any sense to me.
