depends on the mood. Mostly bigger and darker beers. which works well because I'm up to my ears in stouts, strong ales and barleywines.

Stouts pair well with cold/crappy weather.

Weizenbock, stouts, porters, Quads. They are all great styles to indulge in when its cold outside

I remember sipping a Bells Third Coast Old Ale last winter on a night when the temperature was about 5. Ahhh. Nice memories

Mostly anything in the higher gravity category. First real snowfall of the year called for a nice Belgian strong ale.

Great time of year for the obvious winter warmers (Great Lakes and Thirsty Dog come to mind).

Imperial IPAs are always welcome. On the other hand I certainly shy away from hefeweizens and the like during the winter months (I still enjoy them, don't get me wrong, they just generally aren't the go-to for the beer fridge run).

As the first responder said, big old quads. I'm pretty well stocked.

For some reason I could never associate IPA/IIPAs being cold weather beer, but that's just me. Barleywines on the other hand, yes. Anything roasty, smokey, malty, oaky... and a warming alcohol burn. Evil Twin's Bozo Beer comes to mind. DFH's Palo Santo as well.

MY IPA consumption has gone way up recently. The stouts/BSDA types too, but I still probably only drink like one or two of those per week versus like 8ish IPA/week.

Definitely IPAs for me, but darker beers work well too.

Belgian strong dark ales and quads. Something to sip slowly while sitting in front of the fire! Hard to beat a Rochefort 10 or Chimay Grande Reserve Blue.
