Standing in front if a case just put out at a local store. One of my favorites. Bottled 9-6-13. Do pumpkin beers hold their flavor profile well? 4 months doesn't seem like that long. Good price too! Should I load up?
i know CCB tapped a keg of 2012 good gourd back in october i think and people said it was tasting fantastic. i dont recall the ABV, but in many pumpkin beers, the spices mellow out. If i could grab a couple now, i definitely would jump on the opportunity.
Gourd is 9% , so it should hold up well. The 2012 tasted like marshmallows mixed with pumpkin, but that was draft (who knows with the bottle). I'm holding on to a few bottles to break out next year since many have said that this years batch was better than last years
I have a 2012 on hand, and drank one recently... STILL great stuff! Actually better than the 2013 (which is great too)... i'm guessing the aging helped it, assuming the same recipe.
I would drink it. I don't even like pumpkin beers. GG is the only one I can stand to drink. Definitely still good! Buy it. Buy some to trade, many people still wanting it!
TW? How much was it per bottle? (If you noticed). I forget what they run for... I almost wouldn't mind grabbing a bottle or 2 to hold on to... sounding good with some age.
No no no not Total Wine.....Sarasota Wine......Cattleman and Bee Ridge Location. Guess you've never been in before? Great selection, but watch the dates on some stuff. There's another location on the trail near where the old oyster bar used to be and they keep a decent selection too. Price was normal....11 or 12 bucks. Sent a couple out to Cali for some Alpine stuff.
Update: It's still as incredible as it was in October. They "were" in Pensacola at 12 bucks a bottle, which is 3 bucks less than they originally were.
