Heading to Rochester this weekend, wondering about some good places to stock up on some good craft beer.
I think HyVee gets overlooked often, they have a good selection too. I also agree with the above posts.
Those are the two better ones when I lived there. HyVee wine and spirits in the Cross Roads center right on Civic Center Drive off 52 is pretty solid also and have more beer cold (especially bombers) which is great if you want to drink immediately
hey guys a friend of mine is in Rochester visiting his sister at the Mayo Clinic, he offered to bring back some beer. I'll send him this list of stores to make it a little easier. the question i have is about availabilty. what beers should i have him look for? is there anything available from surly and central waters? any local gems? thanks for the help!
@Idhughes3 For Surly currently there is Pentagram, Blakkr, Hell, Furious, maybe still some Abrasive, on the shelves. Central Waters there is Illumination that hit just a few weeks ago, & their core lineup as well. Bells Two Hearted in cans just came in, dated 4-29, & Schell's The Current Zommerfest Style Kölsch just hit as well. How long is your friend going to be in Rochester?
Don't let him get suckered into buying any Kinney Creek (made in Rochester) if he sees it on the shelves. I would be embarrassed to call myself a BA member and fellow beer drinker without giving you this warning. Have him hit up the Tap House or Whistle Binkies North if he needs a beer/food. Tap House popped a keg of KBS and Curmudgeon yesterday, not sure if there is any left. Whistle Binkies North (or South) has a great beer list.
