Perrin's Dr. Lacto is also pretty good. Plus if you go to the taproom or to Horrocks you can try / get a growler of "You'd Bretta Run" its a really tasty introductory sour.

I second the vote on Incorrigible, really good, really reasonable.

Leelanau Brewing Company has some good sour beer. I've had Good Golden Harbor and Whaleback White, both good and very sour. Can be a bit pricey though for a newcomer so I would suggest the New Holland stuff or the 12oz. bottles of Jolly Pumpkin stuff if you're just getting into them.

Brewery Ferment has good beer. +1 to Oarsman.

Rambic was on and off for about a month last summer in Ann Arbor. I do wish they'd add about six more lines there and either have more of their stuff on or introduce some guest brews. Don't get me wrong, I'm there a lot, but yeah, the list is always going to be Bam/Noir/Roja/Oro/Blanca and one or two seasonals, and you have to get really lucky to see an experimental/small batch brew on.

Exactly, they have like 8 taps for JP stuff, and 5/6 of them never change. It's the most ho-hum brewery taplist around (at least relative to the quality of the brewery behind it.)

Most frustrating to me, the one year-round beer they WILL often inexplicably drop from the tap list is La Roja, my favorite JP year-round. They haven't had it on like 3 of the last 4 times I've gone.

EDIT: I should add, the one time I went to Null Taphouse the taplist was incredible. That was right after their opening, so I'm not sure if that's standard, but I definitely want to make it out there again.

I was at Null this weekend. Amazing as usual, with Dandelion Rhubarb and Cherry Hibiscus on. Only regular JP brew that I didn't see on was Biere de Mars.

I almost wish their beers weren't so good because their selection of infused liquors is something I'd like to drink my way through at some point.

Arbor Framboozled was just released recently, Leelanau for sure with a slightly higher price point, New Holland Blue Sunday, Incorrigible, Incorrigible Reserve, and if Bell's ever bottles Kal-Haven or Oat ale although not specifically intensely sour I will be hooked for life.

Last year on the day Biere de Mars came out, my friend and I went and split a pitcher. $25 is a little steep, but it was glorious, and as a yearly tradition to ring in warmer weather I'll gladly take that over Oberon or Dominick's sangria, etc.

Not to thread hijack, but does anyone know the price on this years JP La Roja Grand Reserve, and if it will be distributed at all?

I believe it was $15 a 375 or what ever and that it wont be distributed. As far as I know they have never distributed grand reserves.

Most of the Michigan made sours have been mentioned. White Birch from NH just started to distribute here, they do a couple of Berliner styles, regular and blueberry, about $5 and $7 for bombers. Decent, not great. Hard to beat Rodenbach and Rodenbach Grand Cru for the availability and price.

The Ann Arbor location indicated on Friday or Saturday (13/14th) that they had just received a couple more cases. Might be worth calling them to see if any is left. This Grand Reserve was the greatest thing I've ever tasted from JP.

Apparently, this Arcadia Lock Up is sort of a sour now....they're taking quite the hit on social media over it...

Yea, I don't know if its actually infected or if they let is sour, but they've handled it poorly either way. Wasn't advertised as being a sour, doesn't say so on the bottle, then they come out and say, "oh it's supposed to taste that way." They should be offering refunds to those who want it, $9 for 12oz of beer that doesn't taste the way you expect is pretty lame.
