The blood orange is a little sweeter than I'd like, and loses some of the crispness of the regular. It also just generally tastes a bit muddled with some much going on (sour, sweet, salty) and nothing is really able to stand out.

I completely agree that the original is better. A little cleaner / crisper tasting.

La Roja by Jolly Pumpkin is a great MI sour for about $15 for a ~ 25 oz. Generally Jolly Pumpkin I think is one of the few MI breweries with a year-round sour line up.

Rebooting this this thread as I've started to venture into the worlds of sours and wanted some input. I have recently tried sours from Jolly Pumpkin, New Holland, and New Belgium; as well as the Oddside King/Queen/Joker and the Black Friday series . Some I enjoyed and others not so much.

Anything else pop up in the past year, either made by Michigan breweries or now available in Michigan worth a try?

    Last year?

The Oddside tart series has been pretty approachable and some sour stouts.

If you live close to Kalamazoo get yourself on over to Bell's Eccentric Cafe. They have Wild One, Raspberry Wild One, and a couple other sours on tap. On your way there if coming from the east you might be able to find Cereal City Champagne (a Berliner Weisse) on tap at Territorial In Battle Creek. It was listed on the 'Upcoming Beers' board last week when I was there, but I don't know if it's tapped yet. Call ahead if you are interested.

The Arclight lambics having been getting a lot of good buzz. The one I tried (Strawberry Lambic) was really nice.

I think they have brewery-only releases 2-3 times per year. However, that last ti e that I was there was about a month after one of their releases and they still had a few choices leftover from the release. I think they just had an event 3-4 weeks ago, so it's worth a call there to see if they have anything.

End of April there's a party with a bottle release, I suggest going if you like their sours.
