Weyerbacher is a great PA brewer, never had a bad one of the things I've tried by them. Also Penn Brewing and Troegs are great as well, the buying from distributors thing is what it is but do these places NOT carry PA craft beer unless it's in mass quantities? As for Russian Imp stouts...Siberian Night, Blackout Stout and Old Rasputin are great go to stouts, even if the Blackout is seasonal only ;-(

I just started drinking Founders Imperial Stout. Amazing. And pretty much what everybody on here is saying....There is no shortage of great Imp. Stouts.

Most of the beers mentioned so far are available in PA. Some widely. If you are having trouble finding them talk to your local beer store and have them order you a case.

I'm sipping on a Bell's Expedition right now. If you don't mind some extreme roastiness in the finish, this one's smooth and delicious. And if you want one that's a little more moderate in the alcohol department, Weyerbacher's Old Heathen is very tasty and not too potent at 8%.

Hello. It seems to me Avery gets mentioned very little on Beer Advocate, or at least that's been my experience. The Czar is a fantastic RIS.

I've had so many different RIS's over the years, but the one I look forward to the most every year is Stone's Imperial Russian Stout. It's so easily available and incredibly delicious that you should buy a case this May. It's worth it.

I've never understood the appeal of RIS's. Too much booze for me I guess.

I am super noobish to the whole craft beer thing and have discovered the awesomeness that is the Russian Imperial Stout (Ten Fidy, where have you been all my life?). The thought has occurred to me to start a collection of age-ables of this wonderful style. I am interested in the opinion of my betters: what are the good, super viscous, bittersweet chocolate, RIS options out there that are accessible in Florida (I've already got my eye on Marshal Zhukov)? No whales, please.

I believe Hoppin' Frog distributes to FL, so keep an eye out for B.O.R.I.S. and D.O.R.I.S., shouldn't be too hard to find.. and do you guys get Bell's? If so, Expedition is great for aging..

Old Rasputin, Storm King, Yeti, Parabola are all very solid RIS that are fairly easy to get.

Zhukov, Expedition Stout, Founders Imperial, are all truly excellent.
