Hey, Myself and a few friends are going to be seeing Rush play at the palace of auburn hills in a couple of weeks, and seeing as I'll be turning 21 that day, I'd like to be getting a hold of some of the good stuff that's made in the US that can't be had in Ontario, particularly those made in Michigan. Are there any good stores in the area that might have a decent selection of craft that aren't too far out of the way?
Royal Oak isn't too far away. There are 2 stores to try in Royal Oak, on the same street and only ~6 blocks apart: 1. Cloverleaf (wine/beer shop) 2. Holiday Market (upscale grocery with big beer selection) Both have an excellent selection of USA craft beer.
the meijer on brown road in auburn hills has good michigan selection also you definetly should go to the clarkston union or the clubhouse bfd before show for food/drinks
alrighty, thanks a lot! I don't necessarily need a great selection, I'm not really looking for anything too rare, but something that I can actually look through and find non-bud light type stuff is good. I've already had some beers from a couple michigan breweries - bell's, short's, and founder's, are there any other reputably good breweries I should take note of? they don't have to be on the same level as those three, I'm really not all that picky. Also, if any recommendations can be made for a good drinkable stout/porter that would be pretty cool.
founders porter! other breweries brewery vivant/ wolverine/arcadia/darkhorse(any of there stouts rock)/arbor brewing/jolly pumpkin/rochester mills/milking it!/new holland (poet stout is good) tri-city (dragon slayer r.i.s. is solid)
