I am driving from Buffalo to Albany tomorrow and wanted to get some tips for where to stop along the way. Anybody made this trek before? Any tips on stores, breweries and bars would be greatly appreciated.

    cheers!

J Ryans and Blue Tusk in Syracuse, with Empire Brewing right across the street from the Tusk. Marcy Discount Liquors near Utica has a great selection, with some hidden gems always on the shelf. Tap and Mallet in Rochester, Macgregors in Rochester, and Beers of the World also in Rochester.

Assuming you're taking the Thruway, get off at Exit 46 and you'll be five minutes from AJ's Beer Warehouse. Fantastic selection; friendlier and less expensive than Beers of the World. Roughly half the stock is in coolers.

Then swing over to MacGregors on Jefferson Road (~10 minutes depending on traffic) for a burger or make-your-own sandwich (personal favorites from their menu) and somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 taps.

Tap and Mallet is also a great option, but it's slightly more out of the way compared to these options. They've got a much smaller tap list as well, though it's very much a quality over quantity situation. If you've got the time to detour that way, it's definitely worth checking out.

edit: shit, you said tomorrow. Last night. Sorry!! Where'd you end up going?
