Founders made Big Luscious chocolate raspberry imperial stout a couple years ago. Sweet treat it was.

Dragons Milk raspberry reserve, the 2015 not the lemon one out now. Big luscious if you can find one floating around. I just mixed a Rubeaus with a Founders Imperial stout and it was tremendous. I'm a huge fan of raspberry stouts, sitting on a Raspberry Abduction I can't wait to crack. Keep forgetting I have it.

I don't really understand all the hype behind every beer that Founders puts out. It's like if Founders makes it everyone looses their head over it. Most of the beers I have had by them were a bit of a let down. What is the appeal anyways?

I'm not a fan of fruited stouts but Pipeworks has Raspberry Truffle Abduction.

Second this -- tastes like raspberry chocolate cake; sweet but not syrupy, fabulous mouth feel, raspberries present but not overpowering.

The appeal is that they make really great beer, consistently, with a solid price point and wide distribution network.

I think there is a difference between losing one's mind and just liking something. I don't know I'd put more than a couple of their beers in world-class category, but you generally know what you are getting into when you buy their product. Non-infected, widely distributed, not too pricey, solid beer.

Hardywood aged their Raspberry Stout in bourbon barrels with vanilla beans this year. It was everything you would hope something like that would be - absolutely fantastic! I'm not sure how readily available it is though. There was a good amount of it in VA, but you might have to trade for it.

Dewclaw's Double Naked Fish is a chocolate raspberry stout that's pretty good.

Heh, that's a hair off-topic in relation to what your were responding to but you're not the first to state this. Same could be said about other larger micro operations like Bell's, Lagunitas, etc. When an operation has the ability to produce a good year round lineup and you toss in some widely accepted seasonal/limiteds (available across the US), you're going to get a lot of respect. Not too mention they've been doing this for a while now so of course there will be a big fan base that may get excited and hype some things up.

Back on topic, quite a few mentions for Big Lushious and I agree, it was tasty. Very sweet but it had a nice dark chocolate presence. I just opened my last bottle of it a month ago and I felt it held up very well. I'm sure you could trade for some of this easily, they produced a lot of it back in late 2014.

I saw Great Lakes Alberta Clipper mentioned, too. Love it when that comes out every spring!

Nothing really to add, but this thread made me think of Weyerbacher Raspberry Imperial Stout which was retired many years ago. I may even have an old bottle buried somewhere in the beer cave.

Not a huge fan of raspberry, but enjoyed Big Lushious. Share the bottle though it's very sweet. Also enjoyed Westbrook 5th anniversary

Pipework's Good Fiend. Imperial Stout with Raspberries aged in Parce Rum barrels. If your lucky enough to even see this bottle get it. Might just blow your mind.... and perhaps your sphincter.

I don't know where you live, but if you were at 4 Hands you might be close enough to Minglewood brewpub in Cape Girardeau, MO. They recently had a raspberry Russian Imperial and it was delicious. Looks like they replaced it with pumpkin ale (already!?!?) but maybe they'll brew it again. If you're within reasonable drive of Cape, that place is well worth visiting.
