So, I was looking at the Beeradovocate magazine today and noticed you can purchase it digitally. Firstly, if anyone has gone for this, what's it like? Worth the money?

Secondly, this immediately made me think "Podcasts". So I opened up podcasts and searched "beer"... as you can imagine, more than a couple of results.:sunglasses:

So, before I start a mass podcast-crawl through hundreds of episodes, I wanted to see what the BA community could point me towards - if anything.

Any beer-related podcasts you've listened to and would (or wouldn't!) recommend?

I'd be particularly interested in any UK-based podcasts, as a lot of the ones I saw were US (nothing against you folk over the pond! I just imagine much of the material / beers discussed in those podcasts won't be accessible for me... and I'm extremely bitter about that :astonished:)

Moved to the Europe forum as you're really looking for UK-based podcasts.

As far as BA mag goes, our coverage is primarily US-centric, however, we do cover a lot of general beer topics that may be of interest; features, interviews, cooking with beer, pairings, history, travel, opinion pieces, etc. You could always buy a single issue and decided if you want to subscribe after that.

I don't think I've ever listened to a Beer related Podcast that I'd recommend, they seem amateurish and often devoid of interest. I think Jeff Pickthall started a decent one earlier this year but that's probably the exception.

    Thanks Todd.

    Cheers, @reprob8. I'll have a gander.

I know you were looking for UK-based ones, but you really should check out The Brewing Network podcasts. The Session often is interviewing breweries from all over. They just had Fourpure on the show a couple months ago. Jamil Z. and John Palmer have a podcast called Brewstrong and Jamil has Brewing w/ Style, both on the Brewing Network.

My favourite beer podcast is Strange Brews by WBEZ from Chicago. I've really struggled to find a British one that I like.

I've yet to find a U.S. or UK one that ticks all the boxes for me. Beer O'Clock is quite popular though.

Thank you, chaps. I'll be checking these out. There does seem to be an apparent lack of British material out there. I guess we're all too busy brewing or drinking?

I've listened to "State of Craft Beer" and have found that quite good. There's a London episode with Jasper Cuppaidge (Camden Town) and Logan Plant (Beavertown) and a couple others. Steve Hindy chairs, and his experience, wit and knowledge shine through.
