Just wondering if anyone who works at a local liquor store or knows distribution details has any idea how much / what variants of BCBS are going to be hitting Colorado on Black Friday? I haven't heard a peep from the bottle shops I follow on Facebook, yet.

Used to be so into getting BCBS...but really don't care much anymore. There's a liquor store by me here in the foothills that has had cases sitting on the floor with no limit that last few years. If that's the case maybe I'll buy a full case again, but most of it is still sitting in my cellar, and the last one I opened was sour (not in a good way). Also seem to stumble upon it on biz trips back east a lot.

Anyone else feel the same way? BCBS has lost that loving feeling.

I think I'm more excited for the cellar release that Mile High Spirits is doing on Black Friday. Some killer imports.

    Haven't seen anything yet.
I found '15 and '16 to be less in every way than every year I've had it since my first BCBS in '10. New facilty, new equipment, singificant increased production... Something was going to change. For me, thinner body, reduced bourbon influence.
I'll still buy it if I find it, but I'm not driving around town trying to get it and I'm not paying over the $10 suggested retail.
Variants, I might be more flexible on.

According to the beer guy at my store they're getting Regular, Coffee, BW and Northwoods. That's the basic distro lineup outside of Illinois. Haven't heard of any special tappings yet though. Very curious about that.

There will be none here in the 'Ranch. Instead, we will be offering a "Barrel-Aged Black Friday" tasting with Boulevard Whiskey Stout, Ska Rye-Barrel Stout, Epic Big Bad Baptist, and Avery Tweak.
BCSes? We don't need no stinking BCSes.

    It's nearly the same everywhere...

It's ABInBev, the largest accounts get the largest allotments, so likely the big box stores (Davidsons, Total Bev, Total Beverage, Argonauts, Applejack, Molly's, etc) get all the varieties (regular, coffee, barleywine, and likely Northwoods). The smaller stores that sell ABInBev might only get regular and small allotments of coffee & barleywine. They typically sell it when doors open on Friday at most places.

Just based on the last 4 years BCBS has been here.

Davidson's, believe it or not, no longer gets BCBS. Long story, you'll have to ask them. Mr Bs posted yesterday they have it all, including Northwoods. Argonauts posted yesterday as well. Just keep your eyes on the social medias (mostly Facebook) and you'll see the releases are being announced now.

I saw that Davidson's wasn't doing anything with BCBS, but I figured they made the decision not to deal with all the commotion on Black Friday. Did something happen with ABInBev?

Davidsons is not participating in the BCS release by choice. At last year's release, we had several cases of the previous year's infected BCS blindly mixed in with the new vintage. We did not realize this until bottles had been purchased and made their way out the door. This was in no way any shenanigans on our part. Requests to Goose Island to help us fix the good will ruined with our customers were flat out ignored. And, subsequently, their products are no longer available here.
So, like I posted earlier, this year, we start a new tradition of "Barrel-Aged Black Friday" at the Tasting Bar instead, featuring other crazy-delicious barrel-aged beauties.
    Happy drinking, y'all.

the minuscule allotment to the little off-the-radar store where I work confirms the foregoing. SO glad I'm closing Friday...what we got will be gone in the first half hour based on the call volume today and yesterday, even at 1 per customer.

A driver I talked to said he had 60 cases for 32 stops from Bennett to Golden...all GI BC stuff. That's not difficult math.

Lame. This shit just rots on the shelves in other states. Yet, they're so stingy for Colorado.

The Abyss rots on our shelves. I'm not shitting on bcs, but I'd take Abyss over it most any day.

Northwoods is pretty good. The extract flavor is a bit fake tasting, but its not bad, you can just tell it's not natural.
Coffee is still pretty damn good

Just had a BCBCS '16 tonight and it tastes great. Coffee is still very present as well as a very nice prominent bourbon taste. BCBS Is still one of the gold standards for BA stouts whether ppl like it or not (the InBev thing, I know). There's a reason beers like Abyss and the like sit on shelves around here.. price doesn't match quality.
