Again, I didn't say no one else has had infection issues, nice strawman though. I said I don't think you can say "no one does barrel aging better" without acknowledging that they sold tens/hundreds of thousands of infected bottles, then were real shitty giving refunds and hung many many people out to dry with undrinkable beer. They also took a beer they were making plenty of money on in $20 4pks, and made it a $9.99 500ml, more than doubling the $/oz overnight.

Meh, I never find any of the variants locally, and I'm reticent to hunt around Charlotte or Asheville just to find a bottle.

Would not let one years bad batch ruin over a decade of supplying delicious barrel aged stouts and barleywine.. I still dig it cheers

I think the wheatwine replaced it.

I just generally pass on the regular, I think Old Hickory Event Horizon is just flat out better. Certainly not cheap though.

I’m in the Lower Hudson Valley, work in the city, pass through northern NJ regularly. If you’re near any of those areas I’m happy to point you in the right direction. NY is obviously vast and I expect there are large areas that didn’t see this kind of saturation.

Nowhere near there regularly, unless I’m passing through JFK. Here in Lockport, NY...dust bunnies for BCBS. Happily, though, Firestone-Walker boxed series have been hitting the shelves pretty regularly.

I would put parabola easily in the same tier and BCBS. I was impressed with BCBS when I finally had it just because it is rare for me to try a beer of that hyped status, after it has massively increased production, and find it to actually be world class. But if you can get parabola you aren't missing out

If if regular BCBS to be sweet. Never seen any variants. Not bought any in a few years. Preferred the 12oz format.

$ for $ BCBS is a great deal. Sure there are better ones out there but do they have a huge distributor? Are they less than $10 a bottle?

Even a few years ago BCBS was considered the best. If the same beer was put out by some small Indy place it would trade for $100+ a bottle and be better than”any beer on earth”

    Enjoy

    Really?

Bottle Logic, Side Project, just to scratch the surface?

Don't get me wrong BCBS, and its variants, are great beers. But "no one does it better"? I think that is worth a challenge,

I would love to hear from others. Who's barrel program stands above Goose Island? Call them out.

The 4-packs they are putting out now are fairly reasonable.

That was a solid move, I just don’t feel the need fo BC regular, thin EH is just as good or better and only 9.75 abv too.

I wish ABinBev would figure that out and send more to Michigan. It’s so limited I quit trying to even get it. Nearly every store sells out in hours. Variants are even more scarce.
