I am passing this year. Still have multiple bottles in my stash. I am having a problem with the price per ounce. Playing my money and not my cards I guess.

For sure, 2015 regular is one of the best ever.

The good ones were real good.

Mon Cheri might be relabeled cherry ones from 2015

I like me some BCBS but am not gonna pay a crazy price as CBS is still sitting in my local Total Wine for $22 a four pack.

Thank you Mr. my friend Brent’s dad!

Obscene prices some of you are having to pay. Picked up three standards at $11.99/ea and a Cafe De Olla at $20.99. Passed on Mon Cheri, as I've never had much luck with cherry adjuncts. I did polish off a 2016 standard earlier in the week and it was superb.

Goose Island must have been sitting on a ton of 2018 BCBS kegs. A lot of places here in the south have had both '18 and '19 on tap. I imagine it's part of the distro package.

A beer has to be distributed nationwide to be good?

of course not. just curious is all.

who wouldn't want to find a cornucopia of beers better than BCBS on the shelf for cheaper?

Also, anyone notice the "drink by" on the label instead of the "bottled on" date?

Good catch, I did not notice that. Mine say drink by 03SEP24 so I’m assuming that means they were bottled on 9/3/19 and should be drunk by 9/3/24 which is exactly 5 years.

Wasn't Coffee and Barleywine only marginally more expensive than regular in 2015 when the format changed. Like, $13-15, instead of $10. Now regular is regularly seen at $13-16 and the flavored versions are at least twice the price... Ay yai yai. Regular is better anyway .

The two places I’ve checked had cherry and cafe for $33 - this is SE PA. They had a lot left yesterday

Wonder if the distributor is jacking the cost more than usual? That will eventually sell at $33, but it'll be there a while. Then some of those buyers will have a year to regret it and go looking for - and finding - cheaper alternatives. I have my third growler of a local BA Stout that was 1/3 the per ounce price of a BCBS variant, and to me tastes just like 2018 Prop. It's not distributed outside our market, but I expect many folks can find other great BA Stouts around their area. I'll still buy BCBS variants in the future, but know there are alternatives.

$24.99 each for the cherry and coffee, Rittenhous Rye was $29.99. Wheatwhine 17.99.

My buddy saw the coffee and cherry for $21.95 Joe Canals Pleasantville NJ.

Tried the cherry last night, top notch but most prominent vanilla and coconut flavors from the barrel aging, the cherry was a rumor.

The $$$ aren't the issue, although they are obnoxious (as hell), the beer is.

The bourbon is an utter overplay, I'd say a performance done for effect which my have been of value 15 years ago.

I'm drinking Redbreast 15 year and the latest Jefferson's Ocean (got bottle #7 at TotalWine in Natick) and am finding these a far more pleasant and easygoing sipper than any Bourbon County, ever.

I'll buy zero Bourbon County this year and it will have 0% to do with selling out or any such make-believe nonsense. The beer sucks.

The first year that I sampled the Barleywine was 2013. It was the only Bourbon County that I could score that year. I was initially bummed until I opened it up and was floored by the quality.

I thought that it was exceptional and the bourbon notes were just right - not too weak, not too much. I'm not sure what qualifies as a "classic" but it certainly ranks as one of the best barleywines I have ever tasted.
