Just curious if anyone knows the MSRP for the 2019 line up?
When I ran across a Prop, Reserve Rye and 2-Year the other day i passed because I had no reference other than the lower end variants. Wasn't sure what they were marking it up.

Really wanted a 2yr reserve brand stout and at lunch today got one. Granted it cost me 27 but after buying a reserve rye for 15 I guess it's okay in total..Can't wait to try both.

Meh. Some of us pay more ($28, in fact) for a normal variant like Mon Cheri

This was the worst year yet for variants IMO. Agree with opinions already stated about regular coffee vs. other coffee variants. Plus I feel like Cafe de Olla and Mon Cheri were waaaaay too sweet, almost like GI is hopping on this horrible trend of adding too much sugar to their adjunct stouts. Mon Cheri was almost drain-pour sweet for me. If anything give me a coconut variant. Otherwise stick with coffee, BW and maybe a vanilla.

After being the odd weirdo who loved Bramble last year Mon Cheri was my biggest want out of the bunch this year but I also ended up finding it cloyingly sweet. I don't think I finished the bottle I opened and regreted buying a second before I cracked the first since it probably won't get any better.

I don't get why they didn't go with vanilla in place of orange in Cafe. It would have been more authentic to what a true Cafe de Olla is in addition to a more 'tried and true' flavor combo along the lines of bigger & badder CW Cassian Sunset. But I was surprised to find myself loving my bottle. Got lots of coffee to go with all the other flavors that shifted as it warmed and opened but loved MO last year and suspect I won the bottle variation lottery with Cafe.

Loved the fuck out of Reserve Rye and don't get what some of the bitching is about. It's rye BA BCBS and people complain there's too much rye? Okay then.

    Regular good as always.

Skipped Wheat Whine. Bring back Barleywine dammit!!!

Will probably never see bottles of Double Barrel or 2 Year at any point in my life.

Me too. I rather liked Bramble Rye and picked up another bottle late last year and it still good. I also liked Midnight Orange, but man, the Orange faded really quick and I regret not finishing up Midnight Orange sooner.

Careful what you wish for. Next year they'll go with dreamsicle- vanilla and orange....

And what kills me is that you can taste the BCBS backbone underneath that you know would be amazing if they just did something smarter with it. It's like a gorgeous house someone did a crappy remodeling job on- the bones are amazing, the surface not so good. And this is the problem- that potential to be so amazing keeps me coming back despite the off attempt.

Hope not. I like Goose Island experimenting with flavors, but I'd hate for them to go overboard and try to do too much before returning to a "back to basics" approach and let the regular BCBS shine so even though they make variants, you still taste and enjoy BCBS as the backbone.

If I had one wish, It would be for them to do a year where the only variants involved different barrel types and special, small batch blends. I am really impressed with the base beer + barrel and would love to see them just explore that side of things in a way that made the barrel variants more widely available

Pretty sure prop is usually 35 as was reserve rye and 2 year I think in the thread saw ranged from 20-30, that one I could be wrong. The outskirts of Chicago had a few of each left when I was in town 12/14 but all overpriced.

I was able to grab 2017 coffee when I went to pick up my DB though at the Fulton st tap house and was super excited for that. I think it was 25

In and around PA and NY it was the 2-year that was about $5 more than the Reserve Rye.

There's one in every crowd. I very much enjoyed Cafe De Olla. The orange peel influence was slight, but complimentary; cinnamon more apparent, but likewise complimentary. I'd scoop up a few more bottles, if the price tag wasn't twice that of the standard....21 bones for a few sips above a tall boy can't be justified.
