2 stores locally down here in Omaha got Backyard Rye within the past week (and 3-4 cases each at that), so I wouldn't be surprised if it's just now rolling out, as we also didn't get any with the initial wave.

We actually released equal amounts at 8,11 and 3. So what you saw was what was left from the 3 o'clock release. As for the "rush" we expected, people were waiting 20 min before each release and most regulars got their chance to pick whatever "rare" beer they wanted. So I'd call it a success. Now you know exactly what we did.

Thanks for clarifying that. I was there for the 11 a.m. roll out and there was a nice sized group of people waiting. It was cool, lots of great beer, everybody got some good stuff. Really well handled!

Make that 3 places I'm aware of in Omaha that got Backyard Rye in within the past week, with "more expected". Hold out hope!

Another liquor store I stopped at released some of this today. Wonder if distributors were sitting on it

It was obvious early on we were not getting any Backyard. It was not my favorite varient anyway. I traded my last 2 bottles to my buddy. The Prop now there is an amazing beer.

Still, it would be nice to, ya know, get some. We are essentially a neighboring state to IL, yet we get none (as we got basically no Bramble Rye two years ago nor Cherry Rye last year). They shipped it all over the country, it would be nice if they deemed us worthy to receive an allotment.

Just like to know why mn gets overlooked on these. I have heard the volume explanation but don't buy it 100%

Yes it is obvious they don't deem us worthy. If my friends and i wouldn't have gone to Chicago this year we wouldn't have gotten any coffee.

It's weird out there...No Coffee ever came to Nebraska this year (first time that happened). We got a lot more backyard than we did cherry or bramble, although it came late as Ristaccia said.

I agree with Striker; Backyard wasn't very impressive.
Props is 2nd behind the coffee for me.
The jury is still out on the barley wine.
I hope it improves in the bottle, but it was pretty tasty out of the keg.
    Regular is stellar this year.

I didn't care for the Cherry Rye as much either last year, but have heard it's gotten better.

I agree with the barley wine as well. I'd like to try it on tap to see if it's better.

MGM uptown also had some earlier. Kind of scattered throughout. From what I've gathered we are getting more BArley wine as a kickback for not getting backyard

BA FTW! Thanks for the heads up. I stopped in there, grabbed a bottle and some extras, and then swung into Steel Toe. Why? Because awesome.
