I tasked my poor father to drop by a shop on his way home from work (its like 5 blocks from his house) so hopefully he can score some for me.

My local store was handing out mixed 4-packs (2 regular + 1 coffee + 1 BW). It wasn't on the shelf, had to ask. Also scored a bottle of Abyss. Considering I woke up to fresh dog crap all over my house, I'm still feeling really lucky today. It's out there!

Went looking right after work yesterday and today. I usually get off between 1-2pm. Have been able to secure 2x Barleywine, 2x Coffee, and 6x Regular so far. I stopped at 4 stores total and called many more. Seems alot of stores will be getting it later in the week or even next week. Any some mentioned getting variants later this week after getting just the regular Monday or Tuesday.

8 more bottles of BCBS at MGM off of 494 and Rockford with a 2 bottle limit.

Yeah I lucked out, F44, walked in there after lunch, saw the trucks in the lot.... Got a mixed 4, 2 regular, 1 BW, 1 Coffee, and scored 1 regular at the MGM by lake calhoun. Ive got rumors about a 2nd wave friday at some of the bigger stores like Lunds/Byerlies, but nothing definitive.

I also scored 3 abyss, and picked up some other random stuff.

Wow, so that is like 3 1/3 of the regular. Did not know that! Well, I have other things I would trade, like a 2010 Abyss. But this isn't a trading forum, so I should shut up.

I have yet to meet someone that scored one bottle and said "well, I'm all set on BCBS." That's why.

What has been the price for the singles you have been seeing? I'm going to local bottle shop out of desperation that notoriously over prices all special releases.

Does a 2 bottle limit change that? Even a 4-pack limit is going to upset some people who feel they need a case. With such little to go around most of these shops are in no win situation when it comes to limits, either they anger those who feel they deserve more or they anger those who can't be to the store within an hour of it hitting the floor.

This is why I liked what F44 did, they knew the demand was insane, and they knew they would have limited supplies, so they bundled 2 regulars, 1 coffee and 1 barleywine to help everyone get the variety.

Drank a coffee version with my wife last night and it was delicious. It is a beer that is best just slightly chilled. I didn't like my first few sips which seemed out of balance and kind of harsh when it was cold. Once it warmed up though, it was awesome. Going to be hard to give up the bottles I have promised out to other BAs who missed out, but you have to share the beer when you can. Plus, I am either lucky or an alcoholic as I was able to score some at each and every store I stopped at (Rochester). Even passed on Coffee and BW at multiple locations so others could get some.
I wish there was some Backyard to be found, but I am pretty sure we didn't get any down here, otherwise I would have been hooked up with at least 1.

Yeah, obviously there will always be those that want more (I'm among them), but I guess I feel like 2 bottles is worth a trip. Drink one, cellar one. Or drink one, share one. And in the case of Cellars in Eagan, you had to choose between regular and coffee... you couldn't even get one of each.

Just need to get a large group of people with a bus and head to Chicago for Black Friday. I have gone down the last two years and it has been totally worth it, especially if you do the Clybourn event.

Can't wait to open them with some friends who couldn't make it.

I've seen BCS for $5.99 and the Coffee & Barleywine for $4.99. One bottle limit stinks if you only go to one store but I get the thought behind it. They have to try and let everyone have a taste of the nectar! That being said if I only got one bottle of BCS I'd have a hard time not cellaring it. Can't wait to open my '08, it might be time.

Just so everyone knows some stores still haven't put out their BCS and some get it Thursday or Friday so there is still hope for all of you. Happy Hunting!

I'd feel better about this but the problem is I'm not satisfied with my zero and those guys aren't satisfied with the 4-pack + they're already gotten. And those guys don't seem to have jobs so I'm working out of a hole in trying to find these places that aren't getting it until Thu-Fri.

Actually, I've come to the conclusion that the truck chasers either are destroying their credit cards or selling drugs. Only way to explain the seeming lack of jobs yet endless supply of beer money. I'm writing down names - let's see how good you are at getting rare beers with the drug task force close on your heels.

I wonder if any of the car accidents have been from truck chasers sliding around on ice and snow? Pretty bad timing on the big releases this month.
