Ok serious question. How do you pronounce this beer?

I actually just looked up Cthulhu...I can see how you subjectively like the name if you're into that.

From what I was told, it's Cut-hul-hu for pronunciation?

The brewpub staff says "Kuh too loo." Some people say "Kuh thoo loo." I believe H.P. Lovecraft meant the name to be unpronounceable by humans or something, so we can only approximate it.

And @croush, while I was being facetious, I stand by my words.

Id have loved to be at Goose on Monday just to hear 400 people struggle through that particular interaction. "Hi I'm here for some beer I can't pronounce". Awesome.

I thought Cthulhu translated to rare vanilla. Glad I didn't get any now.

    "
    • "KhlĂ»l'-hloo" was the pronunciation given by Lovecraft in his correspondance, but gave many other pronunciations apparently, because of the difficulty to reproduce the Alien language of the undersea god.
    • In the game Call of Chtulhu, they indicate the Ka-THOO-loo pronunciation."

Sorry for the nerd moment; this is just an amusing topic for me (I'm actually currently reading some of HP Lovecraft's stuff).

Apparently there are no old school Metallica fans on here.

Anybody that got one of these happen to notice that the bottle is etched with some sort identification number? Anyone have the scoop on that? None of my bottles from the 2015 releases had anything like that.
