I was given an experimental Goose Island as an extra in a trade a while back and was looking for help in identifying whats contained within. Does anyone know a reference point? The code on the white label is: ALT06DEC13 0906 Cheers
Nice, thanks. Now why didn't that thought cross my mind to email goose! Guess I have to lay off the BA stouts for a little bit, clouding the judgement.
From goose island. Hello Justin, Jon here with Goose Island. Your e-mail was very intriguing and I would like to find out what?s inside as well! Would you mind replying to this e-mail with photos of the bottle attached? I wasn?t able to tell what?s inside based on the code you provided, but pictures might help. Also, if you have any information on how the person who gave you the bottle obtained it, that would be very helpful. Thanks again for the email, Justin.? We hope to hear from you soon! @77apm if u want to bm my ill give u my cell to send me a pic, so I can send it to john @ goose island.
Looks like it could be Goose Island's "Alt" Info from BA: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/1146/34842/ Pics on untappd show an all-white label with small type on it similar to what you listed. https://untappd.com/b/goose-island-brewpubs-alt-bier/14619/photos
I have one of these bottles. Brett Porter opened one at tap takeover about 2 years ago, right before Cherry Rye released (he brought one onsite and shared it). He had other goodies including one of these bottles and a hand written name of the beer. If i recall, ' the great american pale ale' or something like that. I ended up keeping the bottle when it finished. @blue-dream i'll send you the pic and see if GI can confirm the legitimacy. it could have been homebrew or someone just wrote the name of it as a joke. This tap takeover became a mini share, compliments of Brett so plenty of folks passed it around before it got to me. I did ask to keep it.
