Has this/did this take the place of Goose Island Christmas Ale? Anyone know?

Also, for those who have tried it, thoughts? I had a few ounces at a beer tasting over the weekend, bought a sixer, and had my first full pour last night. Honestly, I really dig it. Sure, it's a little cloyingly sweet and not very well-balanced, but if you're looking for a winter warmer that reeks of fruitcake and a little boozy warmth, it'll do the trick.

Goose released Festivity last year. They haven't bottled Christmas in a couple years but the two beers are different recipes.

Thanks for the info, man. Much appreciate it. For what it's worth, if you haven't had Festivity, give it a shot. Very reasonably priced and pretty damn tasty.

Been drinking Goose Island's annual Christmas beer for years. 2012 still remains their best version but this year's really nails it: Dark malty, dark fruits, slightly boozy all wrapped up in a Holiday beer cocktail. This is a great beer at a great price. I bought a case and may buy more.

Minor point, I liked the festivity ale packaging last year better. It's great if you like that dark fruit flavor, I prefer lighter body and spice in my Christmas ales. So I like this year's goose winter ale more.
