You're right, the Madame Rose is 2010. Funny still finding it on the shelf in February 2012...

If we're still talking about Juliet (and not Madame Rose) then yeah, I believe it hit the burbs already. I picked one up at the Orland Park Binnys last Thursday.

There's a ton at Famous Liquors on Roosevelt and Main St. (Lombard). I think it's around $17. Not my favorite, so I passed.

Just reported on ABC that their beer manager ran into oncoming traffic. Poor guy.

Is this worth chasing for 17? I'm just getting into sours and I really like them, but that's steep for me right now.

$17 is relatively inexpensive, and in my opinion it's definitely worth chasing. Most places (including where I bought mine) sold it for $19.99

if youre like the average person, i am sure if you dont spend the $20 on Juliet, youll just spend it on some other crap you probably dont really need, and that isnt as good as Juliet

I was just going off of what people said it was going for. I haven't actually seen it at that price.

    That is a good point.

At the GI Clybourn brewpub. I haven't been since, but I think they had about a case in the "to-go" fridge in early February. They were over charging for it at $25 per bottle, which I thought was a rather ridiculous mark-up on a beer brewed in house.....and retailed for $18 anywhere else.

What's hilarious is that I think the reason for the mark up might be that GI Clybourn may have to buy the Madame Rose through an AnBev distributor since they're technically separate legal entities since the buy out, and Madame Rose isn't made on site. Wouldn't that be something.

I'm pretty sure they were separate entities even before the buyout. So they have to get beer that isn't brewed on site (including King Henry) through distribution. Someone can feel free to correct me on that. $25 seems pretty average for a bomber of GI's reserves at a bar. Can't recall seeing it cheaper this year.

yes M Rose was not brewed at Clyborne and would have to go thru the distro channels...

I wouldn't have minded paying $25 for a bottle at a bar/restaurant, but normally bars have rules like 'you have to drink it there'. When a brewpub has a storefront, I expect to pay beer store prices, not bar/restaurant mark-ups...especially for a beer brewed in house (well not technically, I guess, lol).

If anyone is still looking, there is some Juliet and Lolita on the shelf at Sal's in Elmhurst. $21.99 though
