Ok well I'm beyond the maple at this point...seeing a possible sherry BCBS variant along with the return of Rare is making me shit my pants

I don't know much (anything) about what a Sherry variant might taste like. Would it add a sweetness? spiciness? Anyone have any guesses?

A minimum of 8 months for the barrel aging.

Whatever, will never see it in CT. And it will be massively over priced. Wasn't interested in spending $30+ on vanilla rye even if I could have found it, not interested in doing so with this either.

If this tastes anything like JO's BBBM, count me in.

If it's anything like sherry aged old chub, it will definitely have some tartness

You've got some great info in that link, it's probably worth a thread of its own.

Honestly, bourbon distillers must have crapped their pants when they found out their "trash" was another mans treasure. What did they do with all these barrels before? Flower pots?

Oh man, Sherry BCBS sounds awesome. This last batch would've been wonderful for those barrels with all of the dark fruit flavors it had. I hope that sees a 4 pack release. That, or a bomber with some extra berries added.

Rare batch 2 with 32 year Heaven Hill barrels? Holy crap.

BCBS release every 6 months? That would be amazing.

I don't think that's the plan, unfortunately. With all the additional barrel space now they can fill way more barrels than before, so they have to brew it more frequently to do that. I'm pretty sure the plan is still for a once-a-year release.

I've heard from brewers that they hope to do quarterly releases of BCBS with an annual release of the variants to coincide with Q4 release, aka Black Friday.

Eh. Rare but nothing special. KBS blows CBS away.

Oh, that's awesome. Yeah, the timing/frequency of releases didn't come up during our conversation, just that they were brewing it more often. I didn't want people to get the impression that that was what I was implying.

I hate maple, but I'd sure trade the hell out of this:wink:

I would have to disagree. Illl admit I have only had CBS once but it blew me away, KBS every year is good but not somthing that is deserving of the hype. Now year old KBS, now that is a game changer.
