Which, if they used them for the Barleywine next (which is what they do but with 'regular' bcbs), would make 5th use barleywine.... I'd give a kidney for that.

I think this thread should be locked or the title changed to "2015 BCBS Release/Speculation"

"The Innovation Team" is what they call the brewers that present new beers to be brewed.

I recently had CBS and BCBS back-to-back at a rare tasting event. For me, it was BCBS by a landslide. The maple variant, if true, could be make it legendary. Can't wait!

Scotch whisky. Virtually all of the "new" barrels Scotch distilleries have been buying the last 20-30 years were bourbon. They still have the old sherry barrels but when they realized sherry sales were falling they knew they needed to find a different supply of barrels, and bourbon makers were basically just using them for firewood at the time I think.

Goose already addressed this for the 2014 Bourbon County. Heaven Hill, Wild Turkey, Buffalo Trace, and Jim Beam (mostly Knob Creek) were used for the 2014 releases. http://m.chicagoreader.com/Bleader/...ers-reviewed-by-six-increasingly-drunk-people

    :sunglasses:<-------This guy.

No, just kidding. They're really two completely different beers IMO. I've always felt that Founders masked the booze burn so well in CBS/KBS. The added maple in CBS has always been far and above everything else to me. BCBS is way more imperial.

I get that(two different beers). For me it came down to personal preference. Founders has always been about big, bold beers that offer no apologies. But I don't think that CBS( or KBS and Backwoods for that matter) have any much in the way of complexity or balance. They are all extremely boozy IMO. The BCBS had alot more complexity; I could pick out the different flavors/ aspects. Don't get me wrong, I have an undying love for FBS. But the above-mentioned beers are, how should I say it....Polarizing?
