I don't see the details up on the gi site yet about where the tappings are going to be, anyone heard anything? Last year during migration week some of the bc variants popped up around stores. Any sightings? Thanks

Kappy's in Medford posted that they're having an event next Thursday, June 18, at 3 p.m.

I was actually planning to take that day off anyways. Might have to make the drive.

Forgive my ignorance but what exactly are these events? I see a few bottle shops I frequent are having GI in for a couple of hours next week. Does this mean they are having a tasting and chatting up the customers or are they actually bringing bottles that customers can buy? Or maybe both?

Hopefully they do something at a bar in the city. Hard pass on Kappy's for me.

Cool, thank you. I got excited when I saw Brown Stone on the list, as it's literally around the corner from me. And then I saw the beer list for that event...

    I can see why you're disappointed :-).

Redbones BBQ and BCBCS in one place, now that may be worth a drive.

One of the best food/beer pairings I've ever experienced (totally by accident) is ordering their jerk beef while drinking a Young's Double Chocolate Stout. After a bite of beef the beer tasted like hot chocolate. Crazy good.

Gonna be a weird afternoon in Davis Square.

OF COURSE the one day I'm out of town this is happening in Davis, where I live. Haha. Oh well, I've had everything from last year except Proprietors and you just know the bar is going to be hell on earth neckbeards trying to get that.

Anyone know how much they pour for tasting at the bottle shops from previous years?

Nothing further south than West Roxbury at 4pm on a Wednesday. I dig Goose Island but it's not much of a fighting chance for folks in the southeast part of the state to make it there.

Perfect, I get home on Friday's at 3:30, and live within a 5 minute walk to Davis. Might as well check it out.

Redbones has Chicken and Waffles now too by the way.

i recall that last year Saus got a special keg of Sofie, wasn't on the event list, they just tweeted and i reaped the benefits for a few days of lunch drinking.

Well it's a good thing you'll be out of town then. I've had nothing but great experiences during MI week. Great beers on a tap, BCBCS by the 4 pack, buying a case of Backyard Rye last year...

Think the Prop or any of the Vanilla variants will be on tap or just bottles?

I think its strange that they would pour some of the BC variants at some of the liquor store tastings they have planned but have nothing for sale. Or maybe bottles will be for sale?

They showed up to the release parties with far less than could satisfy a handful of people in line all while alerting news crews to the spectacle. They "lost" or "broke" a bunch of king Henry bottles last year. Nothing is strange to me from them anymore.

I hope they bring Bourbon County to various stores like they did last year. Anyone know when that would happen? Last year I randomly walked in to find the Cherry Rye and 5 year old regular bombers sitting on the shelves at my local packy.
