Many times when I'm trading, another BA'er will ask if my Gots are up to date. Generally they are not, and also my Gots are what I'm going to drink myself, not trade. It would be great if there was another category for listing "Beers for Trade."
    Thanks!

why not only list the beers you have for trade in your gots? problem solved.

I know this has been brought up before, and I believe the Bros' position is that Wants/Gots are specifically for trading purposes, so the "Beers for Trade" idea that you propose already exists: it's called Gots. The reason traders are asking you if your Gots are up to date is because they (correctly) assume that those are the beers you have available for trade.

If you want to keep a list of everything in your cellar, you can either use one of the websites designed specifically for that or do what most people seem to do, maintain a spreadsheet in Excel or on Google Docs.

Both responses are easy fixes, and I appreciate it. My feedback is to update the site to accomodate the request though. Gots should allow us users to keep an inventory of what we have and not have to go externally to do it. It would make the site more enjoyable. Love the site either way. Just simple feedback. Maybe designate a certain box to check within the Gots to let other BA'ers know the beer is available for trade.

"Gots" on this website is for Beer Trading purposes. It is not your personal cellar/inventory.

All beers are technically for trade, even if they're not. I've "Got" Curmudgeon's Better Half. I'm not looking to trade it, but if for some reason you've got a bottle of Rare and you're really joesing to try CBH, then you'll probably be able to change my mind.

I was going to do this, but then I realized you'd just retrade them. (http://beeradvocate.com/community/t...s-of-rare-cbs-were-bottled.24333/#post-303185). :grimacing:
