Im curious what everyone suggests for a mill. Models etc. Im wanting something that will last in the long run and potentially be used for small scale business brew setting. Please let me know.

This thread would likely obtain 'better' responses if it was placed in the homebrewing forum.

    Cheers!

I used a Corona grain mill 30 - 40 years ago when I home brewed. You can pick one up for around $30 and they work fine.

Not sure that the homebrewer products out there would be suitable for commercial use. I use a cereal killer mill purchased at adventures in homebrewing. I probably will never buy another mill. If I were a machinist, I'd make a bigger hopper, and a slightly larger wooden base, but neither of those bother me much. What sweetened the deal for me is that these go on sale from time to time and at $90, it's a bargain, imo.

I used my Jack Schmidling grain mill for about 8 years (brewing 3-4 batches/month, 5-15 gallon batches) and it is now on 'permenent loan' to a brewing buddy who has been using it for ~2 years. The thing is a beast, highly recommended. It can easily be mechanized for production work as well.

Can't beat the monster mill m3. I love mine. It's sat idle for quite some time now too unfortunately.

I have a Monster mill with only 2 rollers. And I am happy with it after a few years now. It does get an annual re-gapping (opens up over time).

I also have the monster mill, been happy with it. Same mill my LHBS uses.

Not for hundreds of pounds of grain per week as would be used in a small business setting, ya` don't.

Slightly off-topic here...but does anyone that have the monster mill mm3 care to post some pictures of dimensions of the unit? I have the capability to make my own and thought about doing so, instead of paying $300. Just wanted to ask. Thanks

Yeah, but you can get 10 Corona mills for every $300 Monster Mill you need so at the end of the business week, you can have tendonitis in 10 arms!
